Arabs and Muslims are severely underrepresented on television despite being one quarter of the world’s population (1.97 billion people). In fact, researchers from the University of Southern California’s School for Communication and Journalism analyzed over 200 TV series from the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand that aired between 2018 and 2019 and found that only 1% of the speaking characters in these shows were from the MENA region. And that 1% was being portrayed by wrongful stereotypes.

"We may look different.  We may sound different. But our hearts, our minds and our souls all yearn for the same. To be loved, to be respected, and to share in our experiences"

“Muslims are way more diverse than the wrongful picture often depicted on the screens of a middle-eastern man that’s either a perpetrator of violence or a victim of it; or of an oppressed woman waiting for a savior to give her freedom. Be part of the change. Because it is about time.”
